Tookii in your AI assistant: the connector guide

Tookii · September 15, 2026 · 4 min read

Tookii builds synthetic users from your product and lets you ask them things before you ship. With the Tookii connector you do all of that from the chat tool you already use, in plain English. Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor: no dashboard needed.

1. Set up (2 minutes)

You need a Tookii account. Sign up at tookii.ai if you don't have one.

Then add Tookii as a connector. The address is the same everywhere:

https://www.tookii.ai/api/mcp

Claude Code (terminal)

  1. Run claude mcp add --transport http tookii https://www.tookii.ai/api/mcp (add --scope user to have it in every project).
  2. Start claude, type /mcp, pick tookii and choose Authenticate.
  3. Sign in when the browser opens.

Claude (web or desktop)

  1. Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector.
  2. Name it "Tookii", paste the address above, save.
  3. Click Connect. A Tookii sign-in page opens. Sign in and approve.

ChatGPT

  1. Settings → Connectors → Create (developer mode must be on).
  2. Paste the address, save, then sign in when prompted.

Cursor

  1. Settings → MCP → Add new MCP server.
  2. Type: URL. Paste the address. Sign in when the browser opens.

That's it. In a new chat, say "get me started with tookii" and it walks you through the rest one question at a time.

2. Your first run

Tookii needs two things: your product and your question.

"Ask my users what they'd think of your-product.com"

That one sentence builds a group of personas from your site (a couple of minutes, runs in the background) and puts your question to them. From then on your users are remembered, so a new chat can start with "ask my users…" straight away.

No website yet? Describe the product in a sentence instead.

3. What you can ask

Say it in your own words. These are ready to use as-is:

You want to knowSay
What they think of a page"Ask my users what they'd think of your-product.com"
What confuses a newcomer"What would confuse a first-time visitor to my site?"
Which copy wins"Which of these two headlines lands better with my users?"
If there is demand"Would my users pay for the feature I'm weighing?"
A group discussion on a topic"Run a focus group with my users on our new pricing."
Reaction to a design"Show my users this Figma design and tell me what they notice first."
What they actually do"Watch three of my users try to sign up on my site."

Follow-up questions continue the same conversation: your users remember what was already said. Ask "what's the takeaway so far?" at any point for a one-read summary, or "how should I phrase my next question?" for coaching before you ask.

Give them background. Paste a doc, a changelog, or a block of copy and say "keep this in mind". Later questions use it without re-pasting.

4. Managing your users

  • "Who are my users?" lists everyone, grouped by type (for example buyers vs. sellers).
  • "Tell me about Lena" shows one persona in full, including what is real evidence and what is inference.
  • "How can I trust these personas?" shows the gaps and what data would close them.
  • "Add a persona: budget-conscious parents buying a first car seat" creates from a description.
  • You can also rename groups, move a persona between groups, or delete one.

5. Good to know

  • Credits. A test, a persona build, or a question round costs 1 credit. Opening a new conversation with your users costs 2 (the first question included). Summaries and coaching are free. Say "how many credits do I have?" or "request more credits" any time.
  • Time. A question answers in under a minute. A website test or a persona build takes 2–4 minutes; the assistant waits and reports when done.
  • Limits. Up to 8 personas in a conversation, 15 questions per conversation, up to 3 personas in a live browser test.
  • Safe. In a live test your users are told to look, not submit, and a visit stops at any login or payment step. Anything you paste is scrubbed of personal details before it is stored.
  • Ask for detail. Every answer is a short read. Say "give me the detailed version" for every persona in their own words.
  • Deep links. Reports include a link to the full result in the Tookii dashboard, including the replay for live tests.

6. If something goes wrong

  • "Not connected": open the connector settings and click Connect again to sign in.
  • "Out of credits": say "request more credits"; the team reviews it.
  • "Try again within the hour": you hit the hourly test limit. Nothing was charged.
  • Anything else: get in touch with the Tookii team and a person will help.

Run your first test.
